Tie on one and get ready!Ĭomments: I have never caught so many 3+ pound smallmouth! This catches numbers and size! Very durable and effective 10/10 would recommend. Definitely a go-to bait for me.Ĭomments: best smallmouth bait ever the craws work wonderful best in open water good for drop shotĬomments: I'm not sure there's a better bait out there right now. It also catches a bunch of different species, I managed to catch largemouth and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, and white perch on it. I used mostly green pumpkin and some coppertruese and averaged 10-20 fish on each. I doubt the TRD will ever be the first thing I reach for, but it'll always have a place in my box.Ĭomments: IDK what the heck happened to my last batch of TRD'S but they were all stuck together and some of them were hard as a rock.that's never happened before.what the HECK!?Ĭomments: This bait was hands down my best fish catcher all year. Picked off a quick 5 spotties and, after 20 years, my first ever bonefish of all things. Just threw the TRD for an hour in a Socal bay because it was the only thing in my pocket I hadn't thrown yet. Obviously intended for freshwater bass which is what I buy them for, but don't be afraid to target other species with them. I don't throw it a ton, but when things get desperate, this lure delivers. Every time I tie one of these on, I think to myself that the fish have no reason to eat the thing. Cons: - Looks really stupid and it doesn't make much sense that fish will eat it Pros:- Fish don't care that you think it looks stupid and don't understand why they will eat it - FISH EAT IT - There's no wrong way to fish it. Becareful and don't get addicted to this because it will hurt your wallet and maybe your relationship with your spouseĬomments: This bait has its pros and cons. But boy was I wrong I fell in love with the ned rig and this worm that now my tackle only consist of this stuff. Its literally a small worm on a jig head. My friend introduced me to the ned rig and at first thought I told myself how can something so simple and stupid catch fish. I for one mostly catch nothing on my days out on the water until one day. Some days you catching nothing and some day you catch everything.

Don't use too much or else the glue will melt the bait.Ĭomments: Let me start by saying I've been fishing for 10+ years and throughout my fishing career you have your bad days and good days of fishing. I recommend using a very very small drop of super glue on this bait where it touches the head of the jig. When the bite is tough, I throw this under docks and on flats to get a bite.

Not a whole lot going on, so the bait just sits there straight up and drags on the bottom. Oh yeah and also, they are literally indestructible.Ĭomments: I love the simplicity of this bait. Throw it out on a ned head, hop, lift and catch em. You don't have to do anything that special with it. Since then I've caught so many fish on this bait and have limited my three favorite colors down to green pumpkin, hot snakes, and PB&J. I was fishing with the hot snakes color and the first cast with a PB&J colored TRD I caught a nice smallie. I was struggling to catch fish, but like any bait color played a large factor in my success. But I think that could be solved with removing the bait keepers off my jigs and super glueing the baits on, gonna have to give it a shot.Ĭomments: Just tried these for the first time after hearing all the great reviews. Only issue I have is them twisting on the jig head after catching a fish and/or how annoying it is because of the stretchy material when you have to re-rig one on a jig head and it snags on the keeper. These things are also super durable, I snag and lose them way before I have to retire them from tearing up catching fish. Its becoming my go-to bait fishing for creek smallies but will also catch rock bass consistently and the occasional big sunfish. Ive only used PB&J but its so effective Ive not had any reason to try the others. These baits CATCH FISH!Ĭomments: The finesse TRD on a 1/15oz Z-Man shroom head is smallmouth candy. red head with the Calif craw and by late fall I am using a 1/5 oz. There is no end to how these baits catch fish. When the TRD came out I started experimenting with different colors (Yoga pants is my new favorite) and weights. WOW!!! While my fishing buddies thought I was nuts, I was smokin' smallies and largemouth all season. I like finesse fishing so I gave it a try. The article said to take a watermelon red flake Zero, cut it in half and glue it on a 1/16 red mushroom head. Comments: In 2006 I saw a small In-Fisherman article imbedded in the middle of a page that talked about Ned rigs.
